Grandma's Applesauce

It's funny how there are tricks to getting your children to do things that are so obvious, you sometimes don't figure them out for quite a while. For example, Clio went through a very long phase where she would eat anything, as long as she could pick it up by herself. Then, kind of abruptly, that was over and we struggled to get her to eat much of anything. The trick was, she wanted utensils. Now she'll eat anything as long as you give her a spoon or a fork. She's at a point where she can actually get food on the utensil and some of it makes it into her mouth, but usually the whole operation takes TWO utensils, one for her to practice, and one for a parent to feed her.

Sometimes, she eats something so delicious that utensils get in her way. When we introduced her to her Grandma's homemade applesauce, she had to go straight for the bowl:

This can lead to an immediate bath with other foods, like yogurt.

Clio will polish off the applesauce today, and has a special message for her grandparents: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
